In the United States, Saturdays are when most of the college football games are played. With pre-game radio shows, pre-game TV shows, the games themselves, post-game analysis etc. you can spend the whole day occupied with football. It's a great game for television and there are many rivalries and human interest stories. It's fun and seems so damned important sometimes. Today I spent a good deal of my day watching football. My team had a good start to their season.
Last week I set a goal of fixing the minivan's three most pressing problems. I went to Autozone and bought an alternator plus the tools needed to replace it. This took two trips and two days to finish the job. I would advise you not to pay me by the hour. The replacement headlight was only 20 minutes. The muffler was done at Tuffy Muffler. I did that today during the Michigan State game. So I didn't feel bad at all about wasting that time. The car runs so quietly now, I can hear other noises that may be problems.
Just to make this blog worth your time, we've had our yearly fruit-fly problem. I tried a couple of things out to catch them with little luck. Then I thought of using a plastic container with higher sides and a tight fitting top. Put in a small piece of banana to attract and once in a while quickly cover the container and release the flies outside. Brooke read on the Internet that you use this method but can just keep the top on and punch about 5 holes in the top. The flies go in but can't find their way out. It works great!
It's very satisfying to outwit fruit-flies. More tips on life's little problems to come.
