I'm not quite sure of the definition of a golf outing, but this was just your ordinary four guys playing golf at Tyrone Hills in Fenton. Mike, Chris, Jamie and I signed up to play 18 holes of golf. Jamie has played about 4-5 times and Mike had only played once before. Chris is a very good player and I am average. Brooke agreed to babysit Baby-G.
18 holes is a lot of golf for a beginner to play at one time. Also, the grip isn't right and the swing isn't tamed down to the point of being able to make good contact with the ball. Mike hasn't been told that when one swings and misses it counts as a stroke. Not important but it would give one motivation for figuring out a different approach. I was thinking, if I were put in charge of teaching a beginning golfer, I would get the grip established and the stance. I might at that point bring in the medicus golf club and start establishing the swing.
No golf ball would be involved. Then I would have the student hit balls with only a half swing concentrating only on making "crisp and clean" contact with the ball. When he/she can do that ten balls in a row, we would start hitting 3/4 to full shots. One thing about golf, no matter how good you are, there is always something to work on.
We had a nice time out there but Mike and I had to leave before finishing the round. I asked the course manager if he missed Luke and I chasing off geese this year and he said, "How is Luke?" Maybe next Spring we'll be back at it. I'd love to speak to some golfers regarding using hypnosis to shave a few strokes off their game. I must remember to wish Brooke a Happy Birthday. We are going out for Sushi. I find Sushi very filling. We spent some time in Ann Arbor yesterday and got Sushi at Trader Joe's. We ate it in the car and it hit the spot.
Thanks for checking in.
